May

May has been magical at Passion Pods HQ. We’ve been revelling in the Spring sunshine, the beautiful blossoms and tracking down and chatting to the most intriguing, inspiring creatives we can push our microphone in front of…and this month has definitely not been a let down!
The lovely Steffy White transfixed us when she told us how she turned her back on her dream to explore yoga instead. And in-keeping with a decision like that, she actually got the idea on her mat one morning, while doing her salute to the sun! Steffy really touched on something close to our hearts at Passion Pods: the fear of walking away from something because you don’t want to be a ‘failure’. She’s a fantastic yoga teacher (we should know, we’ve benefited from her bending!) and we can’t wait to see what’s next around the corner for this precious lady.
Next we chatted to Jodie who, along with her husband, has written a series of children’s books aiming to inspire enterprise in kids. The books challenge the cycle of generational unemployment and encourage kids to see business people in a positive light, not just as creepy Mr Burns! Jodie paid testament to persistence, and she should know – persistence got her and Clever Tykes a visit to number 10 Downing Street. No mean feat!
Bridget Arsenault has got to be one of the coolest women we’ve ever had the pleasure of interviewing. After working for 8 years at Vanity Fair, she’s now freelance and has set up The Bright Young Things Film Club. She has also just become the deputy director of Free the Children… so she’s a busy lady! She hasn’t forgot the struggle of getting her first job in journalism and revealed she sent emails to 200 potential contacts to get her foot in the door. Inspiring stuff!
And finally, more amazing people doing good in the world: Aduna is the brain child of Andrew Hunt. It’s an Africa inspired health and beauty brand which aims to create demand for the products of that continent’s small businesses. Andrew was amazingly honest, telling us how the idea for the enterprise had actually blossomed out of a terrible bout of clinical depression. A company that is definitely worth keeping your beadies one!
So really, you’re spoiled for choice! Thanks so much for lending us your ears – we really do so HUGELY appreciate it. Now what are you waiting for? There’s over 90 of these babies now on here, dive in!
